Major League Baseball games played Tuesday, August 7, 2007: A complete slate of 15 games played Tuesday produced a total of two ejections.

In Toronto, where the Blue Jays hosted the New York Yankees, home plate umpire Angel Hernandez ejected both Yankees starting pitcher Roger Clemens and Yankees manager Joe Torre after Clemens hit Blue Jays right fielder Alex Rios with a pitch to lead off the bottom of the 7th inning. The ejection followed two bench-clearing incidents earlier in the game after Blue Jays starting pitcher Josh Towers hit Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez with a pitch in the top of the 3rd inning. The Yankees won the game by a score of 9-2. You can access the box score at this link, while wraps from MLB.com are here and here. MLB.com also reports that "Yanks, Jays empty benches twice; Bad blood boils over after A-Rod plunked in leg by Towers." Additional coverage is available from The New York Times; The New York Daily News; The New York Post; The Toronto Globe and Mail; The Toronto Star (here and here); and The Associated Press.
