Major League Baseball games played Thursday, August 2, 2007: A partial slate of 12 games played Thursday produced a single ejection.

In Pittsburgh, where the Pirates hosted the St. Louis Cardinals, home plate umpire Bob Davidson ejected Cardinals left fielder Scott Spiezio in the top of the 10th inning after Spiezio recorded the final out in that half inning on a called third strike. The Pirates won the game by a score of 5-4 in 11 innings. You can access the box score at this link, while wraps from MLB.com are available here and here. Additional coverage is available from The St. Louis Post-Dispatch; The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette; The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review; and The Associated Press.

Credit home plate umpire Bob Davidson with one ejection -- his fourth of the season -- and adjust your Umpire Fantasy League standings accordingly.
