Major League Baseball games played Monday, August 20, 2007: A partial slate of 12 games scheduled for play on Monday resulted in 11 games played to completion and one rainout. Those 11 games produced two ejections.
In Miami, where the Florida Marlins hosted the San Francisco Giants, home plate umpire Paul Schrieber ejected Marlins pitching coach Rick Kranitz in the top of the 5th inning while Kranitz was in the course of returning to the dugout after visiting the mound. And in Anaheim, where the Los Angeles Angels hosted the New York Yankees, third base umpire Dan Iassogna ejected Angels manager Mike Scioscia in the bottom of the 8th inning for arguing a checked swing that Iassogna called as a strike.
