Major League Baseball games played Sunday, August 12, 2007: A complete slate of 15 games played Sunday produced two ejections.

In Cleveland, where the Indians hosted the New York Yankees, home plate umpire Tim McClelland ejected Yankees pitching coach Ron Guidry before the start of the 8th inning for arguing balls and strikes from the dugout. The Yankees won the game by a score of 5-3. You can access the box score at this link, while wraps from MLB.com are here and here. Additional coverage is available from The New York Times; The New York Daily News (here and here); The New York Post; The Cleveland Plain Dealer; and The Associated Press.

And in Houston, where the Astros hosted the Milwaukee Brewers, home plate umpire Wally Bell ejected Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder for arguing a called third strike on the outside corner in the top of the 8th inning. The two big men went at it for a bit, and Fielder may be facing a suspension for having bumped Bell during the heated conversation. According to press reports, it was Prince Fielder's first ejection of his major league career. The Astros won the game 6-4.
