Major League Baseball games played Saturday, July 14, 2007: A complete slate of 15 games played yesterday produced a single ejection.
In Cleveland, where the Indians were hosting the Kansas City Royals, home plate umpire Mark Carlson ejected Indians first baseman Ryan Garko for comments that Garko shouted from the dugout after having struck out swinging in the bottom of the 8th inning. The ejection represented several firsts, as it was apparently the first ejection of the year for the Indians as a team and also the first ejection of the year for umpire Carlson.
The Royals ended up winning the game 6-5. You can access the box score at this link, while wraps from MLB.com are available here and here. Credit home plate umpire Mark Carlson with one ejection -- his first of the season -- and adjust your Umpire Fantasy League standings accordingly.
