"Devil," no; "ejection," yes: The Tampa Bay Rays had their home season opener this evening, and before the game concluded Rays manager Joe Maddon was ejected by third base umpire Hunter Wendelstedt. According to the MLB.com wrap of the game, "Upton nearly started the offense again, doubling down the right-field line in the seventh inning. But the center fielder was called out at third on a highly controversial call that saw manager Joe Maddon ejected from the game." Tampa Bay was trailing 6-5 at the time, and that ended up being the final score. More details to follow in tomorrow's wrap-up.
